Attention French Immersion and FSL teachers!
The Commissioner of Official Languages of Canada (OCOL), in partnership with Canadian Parents for French, offers presentations in French immersion schools and FSL classes free of charge in order to promote linguistic duality in Canada!
We have the chance to welcome a representative of OCOL to the northern region of Alberta later this year in order to present in any schools or classes interested!
These presentations last about 60-75 minutes each and include the following topics:
-the benefits of being bilingual;
-linguistic duality, bilingualism and official languages in Canada;
-the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and language rights in Canada.
The presentations are dynamic with some theory but also with quizzes, games and videos.
These presentations are offered entirely in French and are intended primarily for students of Grades 7 & 8 French Immersion, but are open to those in FSL classes as well. It is up to the teacher and the school to decide which students would best identify with the topics covered, but the presentations can be adapted for Grades 6-12, if desired.
Registration for these presentations are closed!
